Selection, corners, and color

Adjust the capture region, vertex rounding, right-click back-out, and the color HUD.

Adjust the selection

  • Drag inside a selection to move a rectangle, custom size, fixed polygon, or closed freeform region as a whole.
  • Rectangles have 8 handles. After clicking inside to select the frame, arrows or WASD move 1px. Shift + arrows resize. With no frame selected and the color HUD visible, the same keys nudge the sample point.
  • With no annotation tool active, dragging outside clears the old selection and starts a new one.
  • Double-click an idle selection to copy and finish. Middle-click pins immediately and finishes. The global pin shortcut also pins the current selection instead of reading the clipboard.
  • Toolbar Save writes a file and does not close the capture UI.
  • Right-click backs out in order: deselect tool → clear selection → exit capture.
  • Esc leaves a local edit first, otherwise cancels the capture.

Adjust rounded corners

  • With no annotation tool, scroll inside a rectangle, fixed polygon, or closed pen path to round all vertices.
  • With a tool selected, scrolling inside the selection changes that tool’s parameter instead.
  • Hover a vertex hotspot and the wheel always rounds only that point.
  • Scrolling capture, free path, and an unclosed pen path do not accept selection rounding. Circle frames have no corners either.

Color HUD

While capturing, the color HUD follows the cursor with a magnified pixel, crosshair, RGB, HEX, and current-display coordinates p(x,y).

  • Press C to copy the HEX value
  • Press CC within 500ms to copy RGB
  • A green check appears after a successful copy

The color HUD shows a 15×15 zoom, RGB, HEX, and display coordinates p(x,y). The normal wheel is not captured, so it still rounds corners. Shift + wheel only changes crosshair brightness. Re-edit on a pin hides the HUD by default; press Alt (Option on macOS) to toggle it.
