Pin groups and layout

Up to 32 pin groups, show/hide, layout groups, and align/distribute.

Every new pin joins the current pin group. The built-in Default group cannot be deleted. You can keep at most 32 groups, and each name is 1–8 characters. Pin groups persist independently of local history. Clearing history does not delete them.

After a restart, group order, the current group, image records, and each pin’s last position, size, rotation, flip, corners, and opacity are restored, but saved pins are hidden by default. Press Ctrl + H to show or hide the current group. Several groups can be visible at once.

Tray and right-click

  • Tray “Pin groups” creates, switches, or deletes groups. “Activate now” is off by default when creating.
  • Deleting a non-default group destroys every pin in it. Pins are not moved to another group.
  • Right-click “Move to another pin group” moves one pin. It is hidden only if the target group is currently hidden.
  • Hide pin / hide layout group / hide pin group lasts for this run only. “Show pin groups” restores every group.

Multi-select and layout groups

Use Ctrl+click on Windows or Command+click on macOS. Ctrl/Command + G groups, Ctrl/Command + Shift + G ungroups.

Clicking any member first selects the whole layout group. Double-click drills into one pin. Moving a member to another pin group also removes it from the layout group.

Align and distribute

Right-click “Align and distribute”. With no layout group selected, the current display work area is the reference and the current pin group is the scope. With a layout group selected, alignment stays inside that group’s bounds.

“Lock size” is off by default and remembered per group. When off, distribute does not unify width or height; items shrink together only if they cannot fit, and original images are never rewritten. When on, only center points are spaced evenly.
